The Réseau Africain de l'Economie Sociale et Solidaire (RAESS) is a non-profit organisation. It was created in 2010 on the initiative of 25 civil society organisations from countries across the continent. It brings together 22 country networks (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cape Verde) working in the field of inclusive sustainable development. RAESS works in the field of inclusive sustainable development.
The headquarters of RAESS has been officially based in Bamako, Mali, since April 2016, where RENAPESS Mali (Réseau National d'Appui à l'Economie Sociale et Solidaire) ensures coordination through the person of Mr Madani COUMARE, its President.
RAESS is a member of the Réseau International de Promotion de l'Economie Sociale et Solidarité (RIPESS) (www.ripess.org).
